The Yurt is unquestionably one of the greatest inventions Asia has brought forth. Its circular structure and dome-like roof combine the maximum structure with extraordinary stability. During my stay in the Pamirs the heaviest storms raged over the 'aul' without a moments cessation all through January, yet never once was one yurt blown down.
